ABOUT RACHEL
Rachel is a Georgia native, a Kentucky girl by association, a Pacific Northwest fan, and a North Carolina resident. Her free time is occupied by a variety of hobbies - reading, jigsaw puzzles, spending time with her family, traveling, and photography. All the photos on this website (with the exception of the headshot on the Home Page taken by Kenneth Padilla) were taken by Rachel herself.
Raised in Georgia, Rachel moved to Lexington in 2012 to attend the University of Kentucky. In four years, she earned two separate bachelor's degrees, developed a love of college basketball (Go Big Blue!) and minor league baseball, and became enthralled with the possibility of being an ASL Interpreter.
In 2016, she moved across the country to attend Western Oregon University for their ASL/English Interpreting program. She graduated that program in June of 2019, and completed the Master's of Arts in Interpreting Studies (MAIS) Program in December of 2020, also earning an additional educational interpreting certificate. In 2022, she relocated to Durham, North Carolina where she works as an educational and community interpreter.

Her professional goals include continuing to work as a full time educational interpreter, while also continuing to do community interpreting. She has taken the EIPA and scores are available upon request.
