Educational Interpreter - working for Durham Public Schools with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. Stationed primarily at center-based High School program, but have substituted in Elementary and Middle school levels as well. Serving students with a wide range of backgrounds, using my Spanish knowledge to better serve ESL students. Working in classes of all subjects and levels, from separate setting Exceptional Children environments to advanced and college prep courses.

Freelance Interpreter - working in a combination of postsecondary, K-12 educational, and community settings. Experience working in person as well as Video Remote Interpreting (VRI). Contracting with local agencies and postsecondary institutions.

Interpreter Intern - Worked alongside two very talented interpreters to get experience interpreting a variety of settings and situations. Experienced Elementary Life Skills classroom, Middle School classrooms, IEP meetings, post-secondary interpreter coordination, community events, etc. Co-created a weekly event to allow members of the rural community to learn basic ASL phrases from Deaf teachers. Was hired as a part-time substitute interpreter for the K-12 District.

Western Oregon University Foundation - Leads other students in the successful prioritization, execution, and completion of tasks. Helps foster an environment of detail-oriented employees maintaining a large database of information. Studied, learned, became certified in, and now teaches BlackBaud's data management system, "Raiser's Edge" to other students, staff, and faculty.

Salem Child Development Center - Lyle and Whitworth Elementary School sites. Performs a variety of duties as Head Teacher and Site Director of elementary after-school program. Accomplishes administrative duties, manages other teachers and assistants, as well as caring for children.

October 2016 - March 2017: Teacher in the Infant/Toddler classroom of the Dallas Snapdragons facility. Provided child care services including: Diapering, Toilet Training, Arts and Crafts Instruction, Language Instruction (Spanish, baby sign), Music and Dancing, Outdoor Recreation. Reason for leaving: promoted to Site Director of After-School Program.
February 2016 - August 2016: Teacher in two-year-old room, webmaster at High Street Neighborhood Center in Lexington, KY. Provided similar child care services as mentioned above. Built and maintained a website for the center including training others to manage the site. Reason for leaving: Move to Oregon to pursue professional degree program.

Lexington Legends (Kansas City Royals Single A affiliate) - Managed on field and in-stands promotional activities in support of Legends sponsors. Provided customer service to Legends clients to ensure that each patron had an enjoyable experience at the ballpark. Planned events and coordinated other team members as needed to execute plans. Reason for leaving: Move to Oregon to pursue professional degree program.
RESEARCH ASSISTANT

Assisted Dr. Christia Brown with research into racial and gender stereotypes held by children. Responsibilities included conducting studies with children in after school programs, coding and entering data, and reviewing literature about the topics we studied. Culminated the experience with my Senior Research Thesis, analyzing the correlations between access to interpreters and different outcomes for students from Latino Immigrant families.
